Just saw this story
As I was on the computer this morning, CBS News began playing a story about the quick decision being proposed to ban TikTok from the United States. Let's discuss this unfolding story.
I never did like TikTok. It turns the brains of teenagers to mush.
Looks like a bipartisan effort. Biden says he will sign it and Trump immediately jumps to oppose the ban.
All major news media outlets will have a story. I have not read them all.

The big question is do we want the CCP to control information that is reaching the American population. They have already shown that they will censor information they deem to be bad for China.
In previous times, it would be similar to the USSR buying and operating a top US news outlet.

This is a bit worrying. Trump is looking at hundreds of millions in legal costs, and his moves to take over the RNC is a naked attempt to funnel political contributions towards his legal fees. Trump has put up a big flashing sign that he is for sale. Trump spoke to the filthy rich CEO of the company that runs TikTok, and wouldn't you know it, Trump immediately comes out against the ban. Was their money exchanged? We don't know, but the opportunity is certainly there.

It must be bad then.
All teenage brains are mush. It's so gratifying to see that Congress is protecting teenagers from being brainwashed to control their votes by China.
I will be interested to see how the U.S. government stops citizens from using an app on their phones. Billions has been wasted trying to stop illegal drug use for 60+ years and yet drugs are ubiquitous in our society.
Now, maybe TikTok is a danger to our society, but I don't think our government actually has a way to constitutionally enforce a ban on a world wide application. Compared to the actual danger posed for our country by insurrectionists in Congress, TikTok is just a distraction.
Far more interesting watching what Republicans do now that The Turd announces he apposes the bill.
