As a creationist who believes in the literal truth of the Bible, including the account of Noah's flood, I appreciate your question about the fossil record and how it relates to the idea of a worldwide flood. While it may appear at first glance that the orderly arrangement of fossils in distinct layers contradicts the concept of a catastrophic flood, there are alternative interpretations from a creationist perspective.
One way to reconcile this is by understanding that during the flood, different animals would have sought different habitats based on their natural tendencies. For example, marine creatures would have been buried first in lower layers as the floodwaters rose, followed by terrestrial animals in higher layers. This could explain the layering of different types of fossils without needing to invoke millions of years of slow, gradual processes.
Additionally, the concept of hydrologic sorting during the flood suggests that the catastrophic nature of the event would have rapidly sorted and deposited sediments containing various organisms based on factors like density and mobility. This sorting process could have contributed to the layering of fossils we observe today.
Ultimately, as a creationist, I believe that the evidence in the fossil record can be understood in light of the biblical account of Noah's flood. While it may challenge conventional scientific interpretations of an old Earth, I find that the flood model provides a coherent explanation for the geological features we see today.

Really?
It is my job to track down and vet "sources" people use?
What does the Roosevelt Institute have to do with LNA's assertions? Was that his source? The article does not support him.
The part you quoted does not support your claim. When you cherry pick, confirm the cherry you pick supports your argument.

What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. -Christopher Hitchens

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up, why would you have to lie?
