Those "truuue Christians"* do not follow Jesus, but rather are hypocrites -- if you were to ever actually read the Bible, or even just the Gospels, you would know that it was the religious hypocrites, "ye generation of vipers", to whom Jesus expressed his greatest anger.
Indeed.
The example I keep coming back to are the Christians who think it is important to stand in front of their state capitol and lead a prayer of followers as a public show of their religious beliefs. I guess they never read their Bible:
Matthew 6:5-8
Jesus says, "When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men ... but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen".

Re: Off-topc Comment
In the late 80's, our county newspaper's editorial page was constantly filled with angry letters demanding school prayer or their stealth Trojan, the "minute of silence." My own letter to the editor included stating that Jesus opposed their intended practice of school prayer and quoted Matthew 6:5-8 as support. The school-prayer letters stopped immediately and it was at least two years before the next one appeared. As I recall, even when they returned, they were much less frequent than they had been.
The Truth shall set us free!
