An interesting story about the lack of intelligence and Intelligent Design involving the preparation of the new biology lesson plans for Ohio high school students can be found in "Professors debate intelligent design" by Robert Arons, Staff Reporter, The Observer, February 27, 2004 at:
http://www.cwru.edu/orgs/observer/index/Head00.html
If a student was to write his or her term papers as they wrote their biology lesson plan, he or she would get a "F" in the class that the paper was for. This is certainly a case of do as we preach, not as we actually act in real life.
A revealing part of the article is:
(Richard) "Baker accused the scientific community of
wasting time debating the plan. "We spend all this
malarkey and baloney when 99 percent of all the
people who are taught this have nothing to do with
the rest of their lives ... These scientists, they
don't care about wasting their own time or anybody
else's time. In business we don't waste time ... To
me, [the lesson] is not a big deal." According to
Baker, the real reason scientists want to do away
with the lesson plan is, as he said to a group of
scientists at a board meeting concerning the
lesson plan, "[They] think [they] know everything.
[They're] just a bunch of paranoid, egotistical
scientists afraid of people finding out [they] don't
know anything."
It looks like the people of Ohio can no longer laugh at and mock us Texans and our Louisiana neighbors for being ignorant and backwards Yahoos without completely disregarding the saying He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her. :-) :-)
Yours,
Bill

Thread moved here from the Intelligent Design forum.
Added by edit: I'm assuming that the "Deisgn" in the topic title is Bill's stab at humor.

YEC & Women
Hi all,
It looks like this topic is discussed on the following thread
If it's so, you won't mind if I hijack this topic.
What's the women's place in the YEC congregation?

And yet they go to the pharmacist instead of the local priest when they have a bacterial infection. So I guess its OK to trust science with our well being and health but science can't be trusted when it comes to a science class curriculum.

Re: YEC & Women
Danesha, I think Paul addressed this in 1st Timothy:
2:11 "....Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
I have yet to see a woman who is a public figure in the YEC movement - Helen Setterfield at least at one time had an internet presence, but maybe all her discussion was aimed at other women.

Re: YEC & Women
Women have a more rational mind. Not especially smarter.
YEC women are in minority. This makes sense...
