God vs The Matrix
Of course, if a really powerfull being was trying to mess with your head, it might be easier to just put all of humanity in a 'Matrix' type setting. Then it wouldn't have to move the earth. Just change our perceptions. Any physical constant could be manipulated.
Personally, I'd make it a bit more difficult. I would ask it to imbed in some combination of pi, e, and phi a message that contained all the languages that ever existed. If it could mess with logic, then I would be impressed. Of course, doing such a thing might be a logical impossibility, so maybe I'm asking too much.

As I remember the various Biblical accounts where humans encountered God or his angel, words like 'tremble, fear, awe, weakness, temporary blindness, falling down and worship' were prominent in the account. It's like if it's God you know it. Don't expect such an encounter. The way it works is you seek him and draw near to him and he responds by coming to you via his spirit and his word. He reveals himself to those who humbly seek. Jesus said, "I stand at the door and knock. Whoever opens the door, I will come in and sup with him and he with me." Revelation 3:20

The problem is that there's no way to distinguish between that happening and you fooling yourself. I imagine that's what prompted the thread...

Why settle for making Dubya APPEAR intelligent if God could actually make him intelligent (God's amazing, isn't He? )

Satan could make you think you were in Heaven though, couldn't he?

Loudmouth,
You make a good point about the energies required to actually stop the Sun. Did you ever see that David Copperfield special when he made the Statue of Liberty disappear? That would require telekinetic energy right off the scale, but he still managed it. Could something similar be done for the Sun and make everyone on the Earth believe it?
I'm presuming your answer to this is "yes", but that you think its more implausible then the voice itself being God.
Loudmouth writes:
However, hallucinations due to drugs are usually not limited to one aberration, in this case the sun standing still in the sky (ie the earth stops rotating). I would expect other strange things to be happening that no one else was witnessing.
Ah, but we're talking special implausible alien drugs here!
Another angle is that with appropriate electrodes inserted into your brain, the voice could make you experience anything it wanted (including forgetting about the insertion), if it had the technology.
Just for a little anecdote, a friend of mine got stuck in reverse after ingesting the aforementioned controlled substance. I don't mean in his car, but rather running backwards uncontrollably. He had to be tackled, which was no easy task since he's such a fast bastard. This is hardly the behavior that gives credence to a proclamation that the sun is standing still in the sky.
OK, so mescaline was a bad example. Curious about your friend though - once sober did he ever manage to explain why he was running backwards so quickly?

Ringokid
You're the only one so far to take God's feelings into account!
The voice is offering you the chance to be selfish and demand convincing evidence for His existence now. Are you really saying that you wouldn't be interested in taking up this offer?

If the goal is to make Bush appear intelligent to others, then God could just remove everyone else's brain.
No wait, that still wouldn't work...

Hmmm, interesting question.... I guess I would ask what page and line I am on in my current book and what my password is for my computer. Also I would ask him what I was thinking of 5 minutes ago. If he got those questions right, then I guess I'd ask him who I think of when I jack off. (Sorry if I offend, just being honest.)
Of course as previously mentioned the voice might be the devil so I would ask him to erase all "Evil" thoughts from my mind and forgive all my past and future sins. (Something the devil would never do.)

YOU probably don't even know what you were thinking exactly five minutes ago. I don't know, for sure.

For now we can say we would (crashfrog) talk trash to him. But you will come to see one day soon. And then we will see a NEW crashfrog. Yeah!!!!!!!!!New crashfrog....GOD still loves you. In Christ. -Z

PE
"I don't believe you" you say defiantly.
"I am God. Honest. I can do anything." says the voice.
"What would you have me do to prove it to you?"
I would ask him to disprove himself.

I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that God's powers are restricted to only those things that are not self-contradictory.
