Has anyone ever visited a Creation Evidence Museum? I have seen television shows and websites sponored by a museum in Texas, and my impression was not favorable. I thought the information they put out was dishonest to the point of hilarity.
I would love to hear what someone who has actually been to one of these museums thinks.

ICR Museum
There is a rather length review of the ICR's museum, in California. Page 1 is at http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/icr-visit/bartelt1.html.
Page 2 is linked to at the bottom, etc.

What is really hilarious is modern museums artists recreations giving Lucy(non-human), human hands and feet(with my tax dollars), and another example of bias, kinda like how evolutionists are trying to portray evolutions untruths as if its a scientific fact, etc...
P.S. I mean Martha Stewart has been prosecuted for similar lies, Martha to protect her company over a 35,000 dollars error in judment, and the Federal government destroying thousands of jobs, and millins of her companies assests, but the evolutionists have secured millions of my Federal tax dollars, the use of millions of my tax dollars by museums to portray evolution is a fact, guess you have to follow the money trail, and you find its portraying exibits, making fossils to appear how they want to portray them and not by the fossil evidences, a misuse of federal funds, to see how toe has caused science to backstep, because of fradulant museum exibits, etc...We probably should have the museums, paleontologists prosecuted, lie detector testing, to get to the truth, and prosecute them to bring an accountability of the misuse of federal millions of tax dollars, if the Federal accountability will throw Martha Stewart in Jail, over 35,000 dollars, perhaps they should go after bigger fish, if they really are concerned about truth and accountability, etc...

Boy, you must really not know anything about creationism.
Every time that creationists have challenged evolution in court, they've gotten their butts kicked, publicly and humiliatingly. It's been all the way to the Supreme Court, in one case, and the verdict is always the same - evolution has the weight of scientific evidence behind it, and creationism is no more than religion.
Churches get plenty of my tax dollars - indirectly, through exemption from property and other taxes. You don't hear me complaining. In fact the way you write I have a sense that you're not old enough to pay any taxes. So quit yer bitchin', huh?

I'm not trying to challenge the theory of evolution in courts, just their lying to secure federal funding, If the paleontologists want to use their own moneys, or the museums, I have no beef with that, etc...
P.S. No doubt the paleontologists are being given moneys that go into tax exempt foundations, too, just don't see any merit in my tax dollars to be used fradualantly, shouldn't the paleontologists, the museums be held to the same standards that Martha Stewart is being held accountable too, in respect to federal moneys, etc...

IMO it has a whole lot to do with the topic. Whatever is right. Creationists are required to fund their own museums while millions of creationists are being required to fund public museums which depict unproven ideology contrary to the belief of a large percentage of the taxpayers.
Is it that you don't want this truth aired, Ned?

You could use this same argument about a Civil Rights Museum in the Deep South during the 1970's. Why should racist southerner's tax money support an ideology, equality of the black man, that they don't support? Or why should people's tax money go to museums who depict moon landings when they believe it was a hoax to begin with? Or, why should public tax money go towards school vouchers used for christian education when those tax dollars are from athiests?
The simple reason is that the science displayed in those museums and the science funded by the government are both based on solid scientific experimentation and methodology. The same can't be said for creationist science.

Subsidies to museums etc.
Buz, this may or may not belong in this topic, but I do suggest (in the non-admin mode) that you also consider taking part in the Why Have Religious Subsidies topic.
That said, I wonder what portion of the funding of museums are directly from the government? I suspect it may well be small, but I really don't know.
A comparable item would be the government subsidies for libraries. Would you argue that such funding should also go towards purely religious libraries?
It would seem that a creationist museum would fall into that area between a standard museum and a church. And it certainly would be wrong for the government to be subsidising a church (but that gets into that other topic).
Cheers,
Moose

Truth?
YOu go on about "proved" and "truth". Funny that you spend you time in the faith and belief Forum and not out there showing how the dating of the earth is wrong. Very odd, that is.

I believe most libraries do allow both sides of most subjects to be represented whereas the museums don't.

If I remember correctly, it was way back when that I was restricted to the FFA for not being scientific in my argument as to why dating methods were flawed. I tend to hang out where I am more effective.

Stay on Target..Stay on Target!!
It really doesn't have anything to do with why I started the thread. I just wanted to know what people thought of these museums and if anyone had actually visited one to give a first hand account. Living in Virginia, you'd think we would have one with all the Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons running around. Statewide we don't have crap for museums of any kind, science or otherwise...I suppose we leave that up to D.C.
From what I read (from their own web sites no less) about the Creation Evidence Museum in Texas, its just a lot of junk. "Archealogical" digs to find pottery with "evidence" of human/ dinosaur interaction. Recreations of the Garden of Eaden where a T-rex is eating a melon...things like that.

As they say, what's junk to one's gold to another. I suppose if you're ideologically secularist, things like human tools and cups imbeded in old coal would be considered junk.
