I don't mean to keep posting non-controversial threads like this, but I am fairly sure that at least some people like myself always wonder why certain people chose their usernames or what they meant. Some of you have really weird usernames that are... weird.
I'll start. Lam is actually my first name. It is a very rare name and I have only known one other person to have this name and he happens to be my brother, Lam.
Names I especially want to know about:
Hangdawg13
minnemooseus-- This is a must explain!
WILLOWTREE
sfripp
Steen
crashfrog
sidelined
I know, I'm bored. Just spent all day cutting up wood for the stairs.

Scary that you would get that reference. Don't know what that says.

Being a true child of my generation, I was raised by ABC, NBC, and CBS. (and I've always loved Bob Newhart's dry humor)

Oh yeah, the funny part is my brother actually look like my twin even though he is 6 years older than me. I once visited him in his dorm and his roomate actually thought I was my brother.

I know a Lam!

Ah, finally I get to say it! I know somebody named Lam that lives pretty close to me! He looks nothing like you, but it was bugging me when I first saw you posting on here. I mean, how many Lams could there possibly be in North America? I guess we know three for now.
By the way, you pronounce it "Lum" as well, right?
(Edited in)
It should be pretty obvious why I have my name. By the way, more people check out my site; I need some hate mail pronto or else it's not as fun!

Yes, but so many people have mispronouned it in the past that I stopped caring.

Who could have the heart to send you hate mail after seeing your cute childish face?

I'm a Minnesota native.
I was living in Nevada, and at Yahoo, including the evolution/creation site the spawned , I went by the name nevadamoose.
When I moved back to Minnesota I tried changing my Yahoo name to minnesotamoose, or something like that. My new name choices had already been taken. I tried minnemoose, which was also already taken. Yahoo suggested (for uncertain reasons) that "us" be added to the name. I though it has a nice fake Latin sound to it, so I went with it - Thus minnemooseus.
When I joined I brought the Yahoo name along.
Moose

Anyone else think Bob Newhart looks kind of like our own Nosy Ned?
In other news, I picked my username so that no one would know I'm actually Eliza Dushku, using internet pseudonyms in an effort to promote myself as a sex symbol.

"Egos drone and pose alone, Like black balloons, all banged and blown
On a backwards river the infidels shiver in the stench of belief.
And tell my mama I'm a hundred years late; I'm over the rails and out of the race
The crippled psalms of an age that won't thaw are ringing in my ears"
-Beck
