One of the problems with having rules is that once you start creating them you can't stop. EvC Forum now has a set of ten rules we call the
Forum Guidelines. We've stopped at ten, but we have since discovered a few more that haven't been added to the list, simply because we believe that once a list of rules becomes too long, none of the rules will be remembered, or even read.
There is also a set of style guidelines written by Sylas that I seem to have lost track of. At some point I will add a link to it, but I think it may mention some guidelines about editing.
One of the unwritten rules about editing is to leave the content of a post alone for the most part, once it is submitted. Spelling and grammar corrections are not only allowed but encouraged, but it is suggested that the content not be changed. When a post is edited, a short comment should be added about what was changed, e.g.:
Post had mispellings, tpyos, and bad of grammar, so I fixed them.
If I could make another suggestion, you might try participating in discussion a bit more before proposing more new topics. You're kind of slanted too much toward the propose side and not enough toward the discuss side.
