Evolutionist from Pharyngula site broke the poll recently. After their raid this pointless poll indicates 99% of population support Evolutionist theory. Help balance the poll result.

Since creationism is nonsense, I have added my vote to the tally for evolution. Thank you for drawing my attention to the poll.

Welcome to EvC
Hi johnE,
This isn't a terribly appropriate starting thread here, it is almost as if you don't care to engage in debate, but instead you want to push your attempt to out-crash a Pharyngula-crashed poll.
Unfortuntately, this site doesn't quite have the poll crashing power of Pharyngula, and if it did it would unfortunately be weighed heavily towards the evolution side anyway.
As such, I'll happily overlook the agenda-laced nature of your first post and leave it be as its own 'punishment'.
If you plan to actually stay and engage in debate (as I hope you will) - then welcome to EvC!

The Poll Says It, I Believe It, That Settles It.
Hearing the news that 99.4% of the population believes in evolution, we took another poll and found that Argumentum ad populum is no longer a logical fallacy. Evolution is now TRVTH, johnE, so just go home and cry in your soup.

Re: Welcome to EvC
Thank you AdminModulous. As you say, I was probably too quick posting the link. My intention was clear to balance poll result. To find some support for Creationist as I feel pity for unfavorable result of the poll for them. This forum was one I googled for Creationist forum.
I am interested in polls of balanced results. When supporters of both sides of an opinion have equal chances fight for result. I am not an expert for this particular topic so I can hardly significantly support one or the other side. Thanks to Pharyngula the poll has got strong response from Evolutionist. Obviously Creationist are weak. How can we then enjoy the poll if there is not one to fight with? No one in opposition.
Let me take it the other way. If you are not afraid of pushing up the poll representation, help me post the link to Creationist strongest forum so we all can enjoy equal battle.

Welcome to EvC, johnE!
I am interested in polls of balanced results.
In that case, you need to look at Gallup or Pew or at the National Academy of Sciences. They'll show roughly 50% of the American adult population supporting creationism. They also show about half being unaware that the Earth orbits the Sun once a year. That gives you some idea of just how "third-world" science education is in the USA.

Huh? You want to "balance" the result? Screw what people actually think, it has to be "balanced" so that one side doesn't get its feelings hurt?
This is the crap that that joke of a network, Fox, tries to palm off as legitimate. News isn't "balanced." Journalism is more than playing bad stenographer, parroting the old, "There are some who say," method, never actually naming anybody, and pretending that there is some sort of equivalency to what people have to say.
Yes, yes..."But they hacked the poll!" I hear you whine. Too bad. The solution is not to "hack it back." It's to abandon it. Besides, online polls, especially ones where they let you vote multiple times, are hardly the best way to gauge public opinion.
And even then, since when did popular opinion have any connection to reality? Are you saying creationism becomes true simply because a bunch of people with absolutely no training in biology think it is?

Thank you for your submission to Science. Your paper was reviewed by a jury of seventh graders so that they could look for balance and to allow them to make up their own minds. We are sorry to say that they found your paper "bogus," specifically describing the section on the laboratory work "boring." We regret that we will be unable to publish your work at this time.

mythperceptions and polls
Welcome to the fray johnE, getting a dose of reality?

Curiously, opinion is totally incapable of affecting reality in any way. Strangely, you can believe whatever you want, and that too does not change reality.
I am interested in polls of balanced results.
Is there a balance between reality and delusion? Should we give the opinions of institutionalized lunatics the same weight as scientists?
If there was a poll on the shape of the earth, should those (yes there are some) who believe in a flat earth get a chance to "balance results"? Or is there a point where you say "the earth is an oblate spheroid and it orbits the sun, these are facts, not opinions"?
Enjoy.
