Response to RAZD re skiing and stuff.
I've only skiied Mt Washington once. My bro lives just south of there. It is a nice little mountain. I was very impressed and had a good days skiing. I'll try to get up with him in the new year.
He had a rental cabin there last year, I don't know if he did this year.
Whistler was a bit short of snow this week so it wasn't all open. You could drop, oh, about 10 Mt Washingtons into Whistler I think. Then you'd look across the valley to Blackcomb!
It bucketed rain here overnight, the pineapple express is blowing so it's up to about 12 C today. The local mountains will be washed green but whistler should be buried.
mmm no , it missed there only 5 cm overnight.

Boarding where its warm sucks. I live in central B.C., and I was so stoked when I got a chance to go to Mt.Baker in Washington. There was lots of snow, but even though it was early February the snow was icy because it had melted the day before and re-froze overnight. So in the morning it was icy, and then in the after noon it got warm and the ice turned to slush. Boarding/skiing in cold places is way better. The snow stays as powder, and you don't get wet from melted snow. Also, I like small hills better because of the shorter lines and easily-found untouched powder. Never been to Whistler, but I hear good things. Anybody found some good small hills?
