I googled around, couldn't really find anything. Talked to my friends. They said I should be a red cross medic because I won't support war mongers and I can avoid bootcamp.
This is why I want to do this.
After being egged on by scraf I realized Ishould be more and be doing something meaningful in life not getting a doctorate and teaching at a college. Thank you scraf.
Also another reason:
I was watching pbs and could barely stand watching le'mey(sic) firebomb tokyo like that. I realized I could do something to help right after highschool basically.
I'm interested in knowing the steps I'll need to do this.
If you know anything please help me out
thanks

I'd recommend you take a look at Doctors Without Borders.

Chris, I applaud your willingness to help like this. I would suggest contacting your local Red Cross for information, American Red Cross | Help Those Affected by Disasters.
One option would be to go to school for a short period of time to get EMT training (emergency medical technician) basically become a paramedic. This is the standard "MINIMUM" training that you would need to get.
Another option would be to go to college and then utilize this education in the Peace Corp Peace Corps - Connect With the Peace Corps .
The AmeriCorp / VISTA http://www.americorps.org/, is the domestic alternative.
There are many options you have while you are finishing school or going to college. Work for the Red Cross does not have to mean medic. They accept volunteers for many issues. Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful organization Habitat for Humanity. They do international work also Habitat for Humanity Careers | Habitat for Humanity

Yeah I know I would have to attend medical school.
I think I could get involved with the local EMT program,
I'm finishing up my sophomore year so I could get 2 years of experience.
I'll talk to some ppl. My old health teacher(former EMT),
that recruiting officer for the navy, check out some more sites, talk to somemore friends.
I think once I'm doing this maybe I'll get a more "positive" outlook about life if I'm actually doing god's work. But I have a feeling it probably won't if I'm seeing the stuff first hand instead of reading, watching, hearing about it.

Just remember dear, no one can do it all. Many people that I know that have worked for any of these organizations have said that it has reaffirmed their faith in mankind. For every bad act that happens there are those that step forward to help, even at the sacrifice of their own safety or life.
I know it is cliche, but every trip starts with one step. Any act of help or kindness that you offer now could be a life changing event for someone. I would think that merely reading/watching/hearing about something would be depressing where as being able to actually make a difference, even if only for one person, would make it a more positive experience.
If you can't think positively about this then I suggest you do NOT go into this kind of work.
