ABC.net.au: Page Not Found
Seems that some lizards are found to use snake-like venom to kill prey rather than bacteria killing prey
providing another link that, rather than spliting off from an earlier ancester snakes might have evolved from a lizard-like animal

the link did not work for me

original Brad McFall Design. The crossing of lines genearlly indicate the general pelvis area but are open with respect to the mouth or nose diagrammed on the right
As one might notice above I have left open a line connecting the snakes and lizards specfically where the teeth are.
Below I have however closed up the squamate area by seperating various lizards anatomically displaying relations to the higher verts generally.
quote:
original Brad McFall Design. This skectch retains the seperation of lizards and snakes ambiguously. It would be questionable if the link provided in the OP was correctly interpreting the same fact base
I will give some thought to the logical stocheiology involved
(see definition-DEFINTION OF WORD)
in the assumption that venom is more primative than derivative because the last time I studied snake musculature I rather thought that snakes were different than lizards in the kind of prey they applied venom to and that snakes could have had a more independent history using venom to catch electrically charged fish causing constriction shock by shock.

Try this one, Brad. It has a little more detail.
