Which is nicer?
I prefer qs for replies, as you can also use qs=name to have the above result, useful in long replies to several people
You can also use peek mode on the message you are replying to and see how they coded their message.

To me it appears qs is preferred for other people's posts, but maybe quote for text off a website.
i suspect it's supposed to be the other way around, because qs includes a way to cite, but most people (including myself) prefer qs for members here and quote for outside sources.
