It's nice to change things up every once in a while. I've changed the forum's font from Verdana to Arial, which renders slightly smaller. Vote here to keep or revert back.

Font comparisons
All below font sizes the same:
This is the Arial font - Testing one, two, three.
This is the Verdana font - Testing one, two, three.
This is the Times New Roman font - Testing one, two, three.
The Verdana font sure seems the nicest reading to me.

Verdana, unlike Arial, was designed to be screen readable and it scores higher on readability and comprehension testing than Arial. Why would you want to switch to a less readable font?

I was trying to work out what the fuss was about. Then I cleared my cache and went instantly blind. Well not really. A font change is all good, but now I have to ask my browser to increase the font size, something I had to already do on my laptop. I'd imagine it is now impossible to read on the laptop now.
I vote for either a revert, or a change to something more readable.
Or increase the font size so that it becomes readable again

I'd vote for going back to Verdana.

Seems fine to me. In fact, I wouldn't have noticed a difference if you hadn't said anything.

Squint
I'm glad it turned out not to be my eyes. The font just doesn't seem as sharp--I guess it dropped below my eye-chart threshold. Maybe I just need to learn a new head angle to bring my progressives into optimal focus.
But please bring back Verdana or bump the Arial size up a hair.

Do a full refresh (ctrl-f5, usually) and you will notice it alright.

Nope, I don't.
Minnemooseus has provided examples of the various fonts, and what he indicates is Arial is what I see.

Back Please Back
Try something other than Ariel and see how that works.
I'd consider TNR.

Re: Back Please Back
TNR is a bad choice. While Serif fonts score higher than San Serif on readability in print, they actually score lower for on screen use.
What reason is there to change from Verdana?

My motto has always been, "The more that fits the better," but I have reverted to Verdana.
Some may find that your font hasn't reverted. This is because the fonts are under the control of a .css file, and some browsers only reload the .css file when they do a full refresh. Internet Exploret is one of these. If you click on the "refresh" button you should get the Verdana font back. Right-clicking and selecting "refresh" will not reload the .css file. I'm not sure how finicky FireFox is about reloading .css files, maybe Jar knows.
Thanks for putting up with the experiment. Please let me know if you have any ideas for changes or improvements along the lines of colors of backgrounds, tables, text, links, borders, text size, etc. Nothing too dramatically different, though.
