I have been trying to figure out how to quote posts, I was looking for a button. I did find the post about where to find the codes (and that the button was removed etc.) but the link does not work. Similarly, the html link does the same thing, when I click on it my browser page says "url not found". I feel as though I am at a huge disadvantage in any arguements without these features. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Crawler,
RAZD posted some useful information, let us know if you need more help.
I'm concerned about the links you say aren't working. It sounds like you're talking about the help links that appear next to the text box where you type your messages. One help link is next to "HTML On," and the other is next to "DBCodes On." These links are working for me. Can you post a reply with the URLs you're given for each of these links? After clicking on these links, you can get the URL from the Internet address box that appears very near the top of the browser window.

Old links; Using "Peek" to see coding methodology
These links are working for me. Can you post a reply with the URLs you're given for each of these links?
One possibility is that he's getting an old version of the link, such as from my 2003 message here.
Probably the easiest way to understand board coding is to use the "peek" button found at the bottom of all messages. That will show you the raw text, including any coding used.

Added by edit: Considering that "ubb" is used in this topics title, I really think he's seeing an outdated ubb code link, such as cited above.
Edited by Adminnemooseus, : See above.

actually, it was the links in evc forum, under "getting started". I did not see the other links you mentioned.
html url= HTML Quick Reference
ubb url= dBCode help
Edited by crawler30, : forgot to add bad url addresses
Edited by Admin, : Update help links to be current.

Ah, the light bulb goes on! I had forgotten about those links on the home page. I will fix them soon.
