It has been stated, quite pointedly, that there is no
testable ID hypothesis -- would anyone versed in the arcane
art of ID care to correct this ... or is it true?
As I understand it the CONCEPT behind ID is:
'Biological systems were designed by an intelligent designer.'
Does that constitute a testable hypothesis, or does there need
to be a breakdown of the above?
What aspect of biological systems were designed?
1) Complete kinds of organism?
2) The genome(s) of all extant organisms?
3) The genome(s) of some ancestral organism(s)?
Without a comment on this one can assess neither the design
assumption nor the intelligence assumption.
...and they are assumptions unless someone can provide a
specific evidence/line-of-reasoning to suggest otherwise.
I don't want 'Made in the Crab Nebula' pasted to the bottom
of all extant critters -- just something that seems a credible
reason for suspecting intelligent design ... but more importantly
a comment on WHAT has been designed.
