I was scanning through some material on on deleterious mutations and I ran across a paper which claimed the quality of the human genome is declining. What was strange to me was that the paper seemed to treat the decline as if it wasn't a problem at all. So, I was wondering, how do evolutionists deal with the accumulation of deleterious in the human population?
Do evolutionists think the deterioration of the human genome is a problem only because of reduced selective pressures due to medical advances? Is there some kind of limit to the amount of deleterious mutations that can build up and what is that limit if so? Thanks for the help and please cite sources because I have a hard time believing what people say on forums.
