This website can be quite intimidating to a "laymen" who is trying to figure life out on their own. It can piss you off at times which is why I go do my homework and research it more thoroughly. I have learned a lot from the members of this site and I just wanted to say Thank You!

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.
Buddha - buddha
we do not hate theists or at least i don't, what i do dislike though is organised religion like the RKC because they often misuse their power over the believers for their own agenda or power hunger like the condoms are a sin in africa speech where around 60% of the population has aids
it is fare from me to say you should not believe in something i will though say why i find your beliefs silly or wrong that does not mean i want you to renounce your god all i want you to do is look at my side of the argument whit an open mind then do whit it whatever you want

Re: for reals?
Hi, Frako.
"Hater" is an Americanism. It doesn't actually refer to "hatred": it just means "someone who can't say something nice about someone or something else" or "someone who finds faults with someone else because of jealousy."
Urban dictionary's entry on "hater."

That of course doesn't mean AT's observation is any more accurate.

I have learned a lot from the members of this site
I'm afraid that this is as yet, an unsupported assertion.

Re: for reals?
Hi, Subbie.
I agree.
But, it does make it easier to avoid another thread full of people calling each other bigots.
Instead, this one will be about who's more jealous and more excessively negative about the other side.

Actually, in effect it usually denotes: "Someone whose opinions differ from mine."
Its connotation is to imply that such people must be twisted with rage and malice.
Its use is therefore actually more informative of the psychological state of the person using it than of the people of whom he uses it.

The whole creation/evolution "discussion" does indeed offer both the opportunity to learn and motivation to learn. I have certain benefitted from it. Which makes it that much sadder to see so many engaged in the "discussion" who refuse to even try to learn -- indeed, I have encountered a number of creationists who refused to learn anything about evolution because they wrongly believed that learning something requires you to believe in it.
Keep digging and learning and thinking. It's a life-long endeavor, as it should be.

There really aren't enough creationists here to call them a bunch.

let me put some reasnoble doubt in your case
i don't think faith is all bad it is a very good coping tool for people down on their luck or those who lived through a tragedy
