The short question:
How do I obtain(measure) and verify the truth of supernatural events that are openly talked about in modern holy books?
---------------------
Many adult Christians I speak with believe that the garden of Eden is a completely fictional story. However, they believe the resurrection was not
Some Christians laugh at the flood but believe god tortured job.
Some Christians laugh about god turning someone into salt but believe a father offered his child to angels(for sex)
I hear people say this is a story, this is a poem, that is this and that is that. That is all fine and dandy but what method or model should I use when trying to determine what events in the bible are factual and which are fictional?
What method/model do you use? How do you know it is right?
Equally as important to me can this method/model be applied to the Qu'ran, Book of Mormon, Book of the dead or B'Gita? If it can it obviously demonstrates that all other books except for the bible are lies - correct? Or does each book which talks about God(s) require a unique method - if so why?
