My understanding of the underlying 'idea' of ID is:
Complex entities/items must be designed.
Biological 'systems' are complex.
Therefore, biological systems must have a designer (poss. intelligent designer).
My problems is:
If ALL complex entities MUST be designed then one of the following holds:
1) The designer of OUR bio-system was itself designed (which has it's own problems).
OR
2) the designer of OUR bio-system was, in fact, simple and therefore did not require a designer.
SO my Question is:
Is it consistent with ID to consider a set of natural processes to be the actual designer (with the intelligence being a kind of psuedo-intelligence which emerges fractal-like from a more basic set of rules)?
