Hi all,
I am currently unable to access this forum from my home PC.I can remote on to my work PC and access it, but when I use a browser on my own PC I see these messages: "The server at EvC Forum: Home Page is taking too long to respond." in FireFox "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" in IE8 As far as I can tell, it is not my anti-virus software (AVS).By coincidence, I needed to change my AVS, so I have tried it with 2 difference AVS's. Any suggestions? {abe}I just tried to load the EVC forum on a laptop (using the same wifi connection as my home PC) and it failed to connect too. I just tried to load the EVC forum on a laptop (using the same wifi connection as my home PC) and it failed to connect too. Did your router/modem randomly decide to block access to EvC? Or does it have some separate firewall that EvC got added to the block list on? For thoroughness's sake, do other pages load?Love your enemies!

My guess would be a network problem, perhaps a router is down somewhere or a route has been dropped.
Since it can be accessed from elsewhere, the problem is likely to be at your ISP or not too far upstream from your ISP.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

That is pretty much how it happened. Did your router/modem randomly decide to block access to EvC?Straggler and I were mid-conversation in the "Nature's innate intelligence. Does it exist?" thread when my reply wouldn't submit. When I refreshed, it looked like the site had gone offline. It was only a couple of days later I tried my work PC and found the forum working. I'm getting the same from Chrome ans Safari.
When I try from home we use Virgin broadband but it has had the same issues when I'm at work or using 3G on my iPhone. Edited by Larni, : No reason given. The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer. -Attributed to Buzsaw Message 53 Moreover that view is a blatantly anti-relativistic one. I'm rather inclined to think that space being relative to time and time relative to location should make such a naive hankering to pin-point an ultimate origin of anything, an aspiration that is not even wrong. Well, Larni, let's say I much better know what I don't want to say than how exactly say what I do.

I'm no good at debugging these types of problems, but my interpretation of the tracert information you provided is that Virgin Media is blocking EvC Forum.
Here's the URL for another domain on my server. If you can reach this URL from home but not the EvC Forum URL then it isn't the route to my server that is the problem, but rather that someone is specifically blocking EvC Forum:

Panda, try and see if you can connect to Evc using the ip address
http://209.160.41.193/ If so it means the domain namer server for you home service is may be missing entries. I've had this issue before with some websites and it usually gets corrected in a day or so.
