Some crazy dude is going to balloon himself to the edge of space and then use the fact that there is no real atmosphere to attempt a sky-dive that reaches supersonic speed. It’s mental!!! ...it really mean starts. They're still on the ground! How long does it take for a balloon to get that high?

I really hadn't thought this at-my-work-pc viewing experience through had I? Mrs Straggler would not be amused at me getting home at midnight just so I could watch some dare-devil ascend for three hours and then make a (sub) ten min drop. On the plus side - Next time they try I know to ignore the kickk-off and tune in a couple hours later.

Thanks for the heads-up F&L, got it on now. And I thought it took forever to get up to 15,000ft for a jump! Fingers crossed for Felix, he is one hell of a guy. Can't wait to get my business sold then I can get back to crazy shit

I think it was estimated to take 2 hrs to get to alt, 90 or so min from when I posted. Going to break the sound barrier in first 35 seconds or so!!

He's now above Joseph Kettinger's record jump height and just 2000ft off the highest ever manned balloon flight. However, he does have this visor-heater issue. If they can't get this working, this will probably end up being "simply" the highest ever manned balloon ride.
