Does anyone here know Italian, or know someone who knows Italian? I could use a little help. Thank you.

I've studied a bit, probably not enough to help you. Is it something in Italian you need translated? Or you need an interpreter? Or you need something to be translated into Italian?
Maybe if you posted more information. Assuming that would not cause a problem.

I've nearly finished translating an eighteenth-century Italian book of some interest to historians of science, but there are a couple of phrases in it that I find odd and am not sure whether I've translated them correctly, I could use another pair of eyes.

I could give it a try, but cannot promise anything. They are probably idiomatic which is why a more literal translation doesn't make sense.
Have you looked at the language departments at local colleges and universities or even in high schools? If any of them offer classes in Italian, then the teacher may be a good source of help.
