The PC police are ruining this world. I believe they are trying to accomplish something that can never be accomplished.
Short story, when I first felt the Holy Spirit I felt something so amazing, so wondeful, so full of love that I wanted to share it with everyone. I wanted to be like Jesus. Offending people was the last thing on my mind. Well I got a big wake up call as I proceeded the next few years trying to share that love. I found myself offending people with it (especially here). The people being offended probably weren't being offended by me per-say, but by their pre-conceived notions and ignorance of where I was coming from. I found out that you can never be non-offensive.
Having said that, and having gone through years of trying to be non-offensive I have decided that being PC or non-offensive is mentally impossible. I think we would be better well served as a society to teach people how "not to be offended".
Here is a short clip (yes it is Fox news, suck it). It is an excellent clip showing the state of the PC world and where it is heading.

Teaching people how not to be offended is a much better path for us, change my mind.

Of course it's possible not to offend people - you just have to not push your beliefs down their throats as soon as you meet them.

Je suis Charlie. Je suis Ahmed. Je suis Juif. Je suis Parisien. I am Mancunian. I am Brum. I am London.I am Finland. Soy Barcelona

"Science adjusts it's views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation so that Belief can be preserved."

Dunno about that. I find it easy to not offend people. I’ve learnt that if I get on a subject that people will be offended by they give little tells in their manner and expression.
That makes me think: I better drop this.
I used to think that saying what I wanted to say was being honest and the best way to be. Then I learnt that often people have no interest in my pet topics and stopped going on.
I and everyone has been a lot happier since.

The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer.

It appears that "non-PC" often mean "overtly racist or otherwise prejudiced".

Giving Up My Pet Topics Wont Happen Easily

Scary! I want to be understood.
Tangle does keep telling me that atheists don't even think about the things I obsess about. Kinda the same as I don't obsess about Loki. I don't even give Loki a second thought.
I suppose it's polite to pretend that I care much about studying Geology, or Butterflies or Biological Evolution. I have learned a few things by making myself read the other topics here at EvC apart from religion and politics. So maybe there is hope.

So now the concept of "PC" has been extended to include finding missionaries annoying? OK, I guess everyone's PC now, especially those guys who live on North Sentinel Island.

There's some truth to that. People aren't necessarily offended by you personally but by the ideas suggested by what you say. If you call somebody a "negro" in 2017, it seems like you don't care about what he wants to be called; it seems like you're stuck in the 1950s, when the "incorrectness" was active and intitutionalized.

And our geese will blot out the sun.

Offence is taken does not matter if you want to give it or not. That's the problem because whats offensive to me may not be offensive to you.
Now im not sure its been a long time since i red it but i think we solved this problem with giving everybody the right to be treated with dignity. That makes a distinction between you saying these god damn wetback Hispanics bringing drugs and crime, and you god damn wetback .... one can get you in legal trouble the other just popular opinion trouble.

Christianity, One woman's lie about an affair that got seriously out of hand
What are the Christians gonna do to me ..... Forgive me, good luck with that.

You are a prime example of what I am saying. I have never "pushed anything down anyones throat". That's something that happened in your past, and now you are taking it out on me, and I find that offensive.

Stay on track
This thread is not specifically about PC vs atheism vs Christianity. It's about all political correctness.
Lami was starting to touch on it. He doesn't want to be offensive, yet finds no way not to be except by shutting up. Maybe if people learned how not to be offended and just listen once and a while, life would be better.
There is no possible way not to offend people. Sooner or later you will do it, and without even knowing you did. No matter how hard you try.
