I have read about mycorrhizologists and the work they are doing with spores applied to plants as a way to increase their heat tolerance. Well, I need these spores now because my plants are not surviving this heat in Southern California.
I have been experimenting at home with growing fungus and I have a patch of dirt where fungus is shooting up naturally, plus am making a plot to try to cultivate. I could possibly grow my own.
Since, as the book says, more than 50 percent of the "biologically active secondary metabolites isolated from endophytes" are new, how would I go about selecting one of the many endophytes that are being tested to apply to my struggling plants. Granted repeat application may be necessary, but where is the outlet for these spores?
Is there any possibility for me to do something now rather than have to wait?
