Like a tumbleweed i'm just blowing thru.....
But I’d like to cite a question to 'ye of greater knowledge'. If I may....
My question is based on well depravity....
How do people explain the 'evolution'/ 'creation' of the human psyche and the development of sadism etc.
I remember while reading the Ronald Hayman Biography of the Marquis De Sade, that I could quite clearly understand his physical actions and his reasons for doing them, but his 'imaginative' capability astounded me... i could not fathom how he had gained the ability to create stories so depraved.
But I question where does this Sadistic nature come from? And do Religions explain it as demonic corruption?

Thats a toughie.
I would be *inclined* to see this sort of behaviour as essentially a psychological disroder in a manenr similar to self harm; in that there is a conflation somewhere between a sense of self and a sexual role. But lots of poeplke would react badly to that sort of suggestion, and anyway I have no convincing basis for the claim.

I think depraved thoughts sometimes. I mean seriously depraved and I have no idea why they suddenly spring into my head. They certainly don't have anything to do with my chosen religion. Nor does my religion stop me fulfilling these thoughts. More my own inner sense that these things seem "wrong".
I don't think this bears much relevance to anything said here.
