i was wondering on how science can explain existence itself.
how can existence even be, not just life, but all things.
to just say : it is, doesn't really say anything at all.
if energy is not created or destroyed, but only changed from form to form, then what was, that the big bang theory can come form? or any theory regarding the ability for any mass or element to exist at all?
Edited by tesla, : No reason given.

keep your mind from this way of enquiry, for never will you show that not-being is

Two Topics
Hi Tesla, and welcome to EvC> It appears to me that you have essentially two topics here---
  • Biological origins of life
  • Cosmological origins of matter.(non-life).
Which one do you want to focus on?

    Re: Two Topics
biological origins and cosmological origins are a part of existence, but i don't want to focus on either:
it is existence itself that i wish to discuss.
scientifically, what could be the basis for anything to exist , anything meaning all matter, all non matter, from thought to stone.
if there was a "big bang" the material that was there came from...what? existed: how? why? intelligent? non intelligent? probabilities of both? neither?

Origin of Matter from a non-faith perspective
I propose that if you really want an informed scientific opinion, you have a one on one discussion (we call them Great Debates, but they are not necessarily debates) with one of our scientifically minded members. I recommend Cavediver, as he is a Cosmologist and knows a lot about scientific observations concerning origins of the stars.
Is that OK with you? (Let me know)
