Many fellow Christians automatically turn down the idea of the Big Bang because the average atheist follows this view as well. Although this may be a waste of space on this forum, lol, let me say that as a Christian, I do believe in the Big Bang. I believe that the earth was formed 6,000 years ago (the rate of loss of magnetics on the earth tells us so), and that God made a Big Bang. I believe this because it often says in the Holy Bible that He is stretching out the Heavens, which is exactly what the Bib Bang is, the universe constantly being pushed further out. The problem with the atheistic view is that the big bang started from...nothing. I mean, if you put aside a room full of nothing, no dust, air, anything, would you expect something to blow up in that room? If you are a resonable person, you will say no. But that is exactly what you believe. You believe something exploded from nothing, which is absurd!

The rate of loss of magnetics? Could you perhaps go into a bit more detail here for us who are not as well versed in scientific matters as you are?
Brian.

You seem to be starting an awful lot of threads, David. Are you really planning on continuing this many conversations all at once? My fear is that you are going to find it difficult to focus on all of the replies you are going to get to all of these.

He has been asked to chill with the new topics and answer people's responses in another thread.

I've been busy downtown, filing a lawsuit against that Hovind guy. Did I miss anything?

Not much. The whole forum converted to Christianity for a couple hours when we found out the bible said there were mountains under the sea. But we lost our faith again when we realized that bats aren't birds.
So things are pretty much as you left 'em.

Not a Problem After All
Thanks, Dan. I got worried when I noticed that all the magnets had fallen off my fridge. As soon as we all just get back to discussing homosexuality again, I know everything will be back to normal.

Ya know Dan, I'm beginning to see that you must be a very successful comic! I like the way you think.

Thank you!
But as for the "very successful" part... excuse me, I'm gonna go laugh or cry. Haven't decided yet.

Overcoming a burst of apathy, I encourage all to get back to the topic.
And I also suggest that the topic originator refrain from starting any more new topics for a while, or possibly face the wrath of mooth.

Actually, only creationists who know nothing about the earth's magnetic field tell you the earth is 6,000 years old.
The earth's magnetic field coupled with evidence in the rocks tells us something MUCH different. The earth is at least 4.5 billion years old.

I don't understand your point: the Big-Bang Theory is clearly a Creationist theory; as far as I recall, even the Pope was happy when some measurements a few years ago apparently proved 'Creation' in form of the 'Big-Bang'.
