Love= a feeling created by our brain membrane not by our heart, sometimes it hurts people and sometimes make people happy.
Neurotransmitter molecules bind to the membrane of the recipient cell, causing it to respond in a particular manner.
That's quite a scientific sounding process, but can be used to describe just about any biological occurrence in the brain. Could I delve into this further?
I'm aware of the chemical processes that deal with love, it's combination of sexual attraction and attachment, but there's more to it than that, a lot of which is unexplained.

Hi, you might want to review this thread: Romance versus Sex, as it deals with some similar issues.

Love is...
...a snowmobile ride across a pristine, snow-covered valley when suddenly the snowmobile flips over and pins you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come out.

Re: Love is...
So explicitly violent...and yet...so true

So intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close.
- Pablo Neruda

Ahhhhh love!!!!! Viva amor!!!!!
Love is a word used to describe a concious decision we make to either love someone or not. Depending on the criteria one sets we choose when we love someone and when we no longer do.
If the needs of one are met and or the correct physical confirmations are present; biology takes a hand and we find ourselves using this word. In short we fall in love.
"When woman love us, they forgive us everything, even our crimes, when they do not love us, they give us credit for nothing, not even our virtues.-Honore de Balzac, novelist (1799-1850)

Is that how "love" is created? Gee..I learn something new every day! I suppose that in logical terms, our Heart is merely a pump...and is incapable of being "broken" unless one suffers a myocardial infarction or something!
You all know me! I have to see the definitions that human wisdom has given to a word since there is no way that such a feeling could be invisibily imparted to us....Right?

Well...lets look around for a defintion, shall we?
Answers.com writes:
SYNONYMS love, affection, devotion, fondness, infatuation. These nouns denote feelings of warm personal attachment or strong attraction to another person.
Love is the most intense: marrying for love.
Affection is a less ardent and more unvarying feeling of tender regard: parental affection.
Devotion is earnest, affectionate dedication and implies selflessness: teachers admired for their devotion to children.
Fondness is strong liking or affection: a fondness for small animals.
Infatuation is foolish or extravagant attraction, often of short duration: lovers blinded to their differences by their mutual infatuation.
Im quite fond of my bird. I am devoted to young people, and feel a bit of affection towards some of them, although I stop short of infatuation. Infatuation is the love I feel for my computer and my virtual interactions with forums like this one and topics such as these! I definitely love my Mother and I am commanded to Love
God with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength...although for the life of me I need His help to do so!
