I think this is the right place as it's not really "off-topic" but then again it's not serious.
Who can do the best quote-mine of an creationist to make it sound like they support evolution?
Look at this from Dr.Dino himself!
"I will be the first to say that I have learned much from my critics....
If these critics would devote even 5% of their error-detecting attention to..... the creation theory, they would see the lies, wild exaggerations and distortions used to support the silly idea."
http://www.drdino.com/QandA/index.jsp?varFolder=DrHovinds...
See he admits it's all lies!

Another one from Hovnid's site:
One who has received only the slightest morsels of information about evolution might find resounding confirmation of its factual nature.
Although I think in-context, undoctored Hovnid quotes are the best argument against creationism you can make.

"Archeologists near mount Sinai have discovered what is believed to be a missing page from the Bible. The page is currently being carbon dated in Bonn. If genuine, it belongs at the beginning of the Bible and is believed to read, 'To my darling Candy. All characters portrayed within this book are fictitous, and any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.' The page has been universally condemned by church leaders."
-Rob Grant and Doug Naylor

His Own Medicine
Who else but DarkStar could make such an eloquent case for Darwinism, and in such soothing colors?
The theory of evolution is a viable theory
[M]acroevolution...linked to...the credibility of the scientists..., ...has become a great...beacon of knowledge and truth.
If it is not well known by now, darwinian evolutionary thinking... will...once again stand upon it's four cornered base of logic, reason, knowledge, and truth.
[T]he Theory of Evolution will then take it's rightful place on the center stage of the sciences study of origins.
regards,
Esteban...Hambre

ROTFLMAO
Truly a funny thread.
I am surprised it was so short-lived, considering the overwhelming number of believers clinging to the myth of macroevolution that continually inhabit the forums at EVC.

The theory of evolution is a viable theory, absent the myth of macroevolution.
Once the myth of macroevolution is included, the viability of the theory of evolution vanishes as it slowly evolves into just another example of an implausible story,
nestled amongst the numerous fairytale's of our youth.-----DarkStar

two of my favourite quote mines of all time, neither explicitly creationist.
quote:
According to BBC correspondent Justin Webb: "Nobody spends more time on his knees than George W. Bush."

You can't be serious......you can't take quotes out of context, use them against your opponent and think that you've made a real argument against them. Anti-evolutionists do this all the time themselves, and it's flawed when ANYONE tries it.

Suggestion for the quote-miner
DarkStar,
Since you continue to dodge my requests for a debate on your pet subject, may I request that you change your signature to the following?

The myth of macroevolution is my mantra. I will continue to repeat this meaningless phrase, and accuse anyone who becomes annoyed with the repetition of being closed-minded and uninformed. I have consistently refused to enter into a structured debate on this issue, since I don’t know enough about scientific methodology to argue on any other basis than quote mining and name-calling.-----DarkStar

What do you think 'quote mining' is? Going underground and ferreting around? Oops, maybe you`re right.

SUGGESTION FOR MRHAMBRE
I am not dodging your request for a one on one debate. Just get the authorization to open a one on one thread from which all others are banned and I would be happy to debate you. However, be forewarned, as I have tried to open just such a thread in the past but was denied that privilege due to EVC being an open forum in which all are welcome to participate in any debate. Good Luck!

ADMIN: a {Great Debate} topic!
There is a forum for this, it is the {Great Debate} forum and it is limited to two members.
I suggest to ADMIN that they set up {MACROEVOLUTION} as a {Great Debate} topic with DarkStar and MrHambre as the two debaters.
even though it will be hard to keep from commenting ....
