In the spirit of April Fool's Day (for those countries which observe such silliness), I thought it might be interesting (and funny) to list the best one-liners and quips people have encountered on Internet discussion boards. The only rule is it must be a genuine post (challengeable). It can come from either side, as long as it's funny.
I'll start:
Because you are a religious fundamentalist who rather be repetitively wrong because you are afraid the evil atheists will take your candy away?
Mammuthus describing why some people might cling to erroneous concepts.
You know that theory about an infinite number of monkeys on an infinate number of typewriters for an infinate time creating the works of Shakespeare? I read your work. 10 monkeys, 10 minutes.
Dark Jedi, describing the book Tornado in a Junkyard by James Perloff (originally attributed to Dogbert).
Physicists know the meaning of forces, Chemists know the meaning of molecules, but Biologists know the meaning of life.
Doubting Didymus, poo-pooing the concept of physics envy.
Your turn.

"I say fish.
Look at the penguin who swims in both degrees of the firmament! Some species of birds actually fly in both water and air. To me, that's alot more persuasive argument than dinosaurs evolving into birds.
Hope this helps.
But then there is the duck billed platipus to account for... "
Zephans insightful response as to the relationship between birds and dinosaurs...no the quote is not funny because he cannot spell platypus.

I am afraid that that particular piece came form a post from "PhosphlipidGen". While it is possible that it is the same person as "Zephan" I don't see conclusive evidence for that.
(If it is the same person, he is in violation of rule 8).

Do you know what evidence actually is? Zephan says he knows! So don't talk about evidence or Zephan might reply that you don't know what evidence is and he won't tell you..so there.

My first submission of the day:
But let's have a look at your latest ramble along the less-trodden byways of thought ...
From Mr. Pamboli - one of the nicest ways I've ever heard for calling someone an idiot...

"Sorry Mammuthus but despite your joking attitude you don't actually have an argument at all. Any Australian who stood about ankle deep in mice knows the tenet that only some organisms can reproduce to be theoretical miceshit."
Here is my submission for the day...Syamansu responding to several of us who don't think that every organism needs to reproduce in order for there to be a population explosion...LOL

Once again, Mr. P gets the award for best quip.
Depends on whether I remember to take my medication or not. Recently I have been Attorney General of British Columbia, a minor member of the Belgian royal family, and only yesterday the Coptic Pope. However, as this is the internet, we stand or fall by the quality of what we post, not who or what we claim to be.
Mr. P, answering the demand that he provide "evidence" of his credentials.
The rest of you all need to get cracking. Mr. P is beginning to dominate the quip talley.

I think that this one from Salty is hilarious
quote:
Now I expect to be called a religious fanatic by Scott and M and God knows who else. I couldn't care less. salty
for someone who does not care he sure complains a lot

Trust Me
And a new submission:
I would trust you as far as I can comfortably take your appendix out.
By Wounded King, in response to a new creationist saying we should accept his evidence without reference. "Trust me", he proclaims. And then again, perhaps not, according to WK!

As a (reasonable) Christian, i.e. not-at-all-a-literalist, this one kind of hurt a little bit, but is terribly funny...
I believe John wrote, on another site (correct me if I'm mistaken!):
quote:
The only way to be less Christian than me is to jump into a time machine with a hammer and some nails!
Ouch!

Hi all,
One post I just came across in this forum....
John replies to a rather "phobic" individual:
On the subject of homosexuality, you sure seem to be flaming a lot.

Hey guys,
I have been following the thread of Israel vs Palestine and I recently read this post...
"Hear Hear, lets lift a pint to the stupidity of mankind."
Quoted from: Dr Tazimus maximus...member
So what are we waiting for? ...Cheers!

Re: Cheers!!
While I am happy that my comment brought a smile, and hopefully a popping, hissing sound as one was hoisted , I have to vote for the homophobic flaming comment. I laughed so hard when I read that I almost spit my beer out

Yup, I agree with Dr T: the hohmophobic one was by far the best so far.
