this so called "ultimate" bible quiz circulated my lj friends, a few other boards, and even pharyngula.
i thought i'd post it here, just to see what people get. i found it almost offensively easy, and even picked out a few errors in the questions. for instance, the correct answer to #40 isn't even on there. as you could probably guess, i easily got 100% on that one.
but not this one, which someone created in response to how absurdly easy the first one. i'm almost ashamed to mention my dismal score. it's a good deal more difficult.

Got 100% on the first one. Imagine that.
The accepted answer for #40 is there. Did you notice that the answer to the #8 question isn't really listed.
The second quiz does make one think. Definitely trivia we overlook.
Didn't do quite as well as the first one.

I only got 78% on that first one. I don't think I'll even attempt the second.

The accepted answer for #40 is there.
the "accepted answer" is wrong.
quote:
Gen 7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
it's at least 150 days.
quote:
Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Gen 8:13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first [month], the first [day] of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth:
and according to that, it's closer to a year.
Did you notice that the answer to the #8 question isn't really listed.
yeah, technically, they walked. joseph's brothers were ALSO israelites, being sons of jacob/israel. like i said, not the best quiz...
...but that second one is a doozy!

I'm a student of the bible! yay! oh wait . . .
i don't even read the bible. got 69% on the first one.
i'm not sure I'll even get 10% on the second one.
ABE:
got 14% on the second one. i guessed on every single one of them, I think. If I didn't, it was very, very few that I knew. maybe one. don't remember, though. that, my friends, is the power of pure luck.

I'm gonna give arach and Brian a run for their money!
Heh. I had to guess on a few on the first quiz, but the multiple choice format allows some strategic elimination.
You know the Bible 100%![/b]

Wow! You are awesome! You are a true Biblical scholar, not just a hearer but a personal reader! The books, the characters, the events, the verses - you know it all! You are fantastic!

Heh. 88% on the first one: not too shabby since I haven't looked at a Bible in 40 years. I did read it through twice, though, in those early questing years.
I'll rest on my solid B laurel and pass on the second quiz.

I suppose getting 36% on the second quiz isn't too bad. Especially as I didn't try that hard.

yeah, try that second though. i outright failed that one. of course, some of it was just plain unfair, like that latin question. what the hell. i might have had a fair chance at getting it in english...

quiz 1. 100%
quiz 2. 57%
although, it seems to me that quiz number two is far more concerned with the letter of the law and rather unscriptural. of course, quiz one is a joke. if i had less shit to do, i'd make my own bible quiz.
