Darwin Awards: Evolution In Action
Really funny but tragic stuff in here. Some will find it funny others will find it cruel.
Their modo is
Honoring those who improve our gene pool by removing themselves from it
Go figure

I might add that the forum is very well worth a look for those who like serious debate.

Some will find it funny others will find it cruel.
Take heart, then, from the fact that the majority of these always turn out to be urban legends.
I don't really find them that funny, either.

Darwin Awards are only given in cases where there is a reference to the incident in a reputable media source. They try very hard to separate out the ULs.
Not everyone will find this sort of thing funny, of course, but no student of human nature can fail to be interested in some of the things people get up to.

Really? Wow, I'd always assumed that most of them were fake. Some are so ridiculous that I've frequently thought, "No way! Nobody could be that stupid!" Guess I was wrong.

Heh, I've always found the Darwin Awards quite amusing, actually. Just a sick sense of humour, I guess. Mind you, I'm not sure what to think if these stories actually did happen. That just makes them...well...tragic!

I'm afraid you were . There are lots of things, especially involving guns, cars and 'pet' poisonous snakes, which are too common to qualify.
The tragic versus comic thing is what makes it interesting to me. I guess it depends on your emotional distance from the events.
