What's the difference between Torah and the Christian Bible? I heard that there were Greeks who added things to our Bible (according to a Jewish site), but I am not sure if that has any authenticity. Also, how did we get our Bible? Enlighten me on this matter. I've always been confused about it. If you wish to email me, feel free to do so at apollo_joe@hotmail.com Thank you.

Ragnarok10 claimed:
quote: I know that the very first bible was written in San Skrit (Indo-Europian language) and I find it quite facetious that you try so hard to refute the Bible based on its semantics. I've read English Bible and Greek Bible and the original Hebrew bible (Hebrew with detailed translations), but the thing is, I have to say, that for atheists, if you are going to say crap about bible based on its wordings alone, I suggest you read the Greek or Hebrew bible first. You will see how very different they are. - see post #15

Isn't that a bit like asking the used car salesman if the car he's trying to sell you is going to be reliable? What's he gonna say? "No"? I'm not saying its entirely a bad idea to hear what he has to say, but if you want to get the straight dope you might want to find a mechanic who knows the vehicle but has no personal interest in the actual reliability of it.

Actually, CA. I don't think that's me. Like that person, I know couple of stuff on Hebrew and Greek Bible, but not much, I guess. You know, I've seen lots of people who use names similar to mine in many forums. like Ragnarok5, Rangarok76, and so forth. There's so many names like that, so please, have the alacrity acknolwedge that fact. And thank you very much for the link, Z. I appreciate it very much. And as for :?'s reply, I don't think that's valid. Tell me, who in the world that is involved in this debate between atheists and Christians, would remain "Neutral" and present evidences? I really doubt it buddy. Besides, it is a different question. My question did not regard whether God exited or not, but whether how Bible came to its existence. I've heard many stories regarding this, so I was wondering. This doesn't involve bias at all. Nice assertion, though. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.

He, likewise, didn't know much, I guess.

Seems to be a lot of uncalled for crankyness happening here. The opening questions seems to be pretty straight forward, although probably easily answered with a little self-research. I suspect Asgara's links will do the job. My recollection, is that the Torah was about 5 books that formed the core of the Old Testiment. A may be wrong, but I'm not going to be the one to research it. People, be nice. Adminnemooseus ------------------ Comments on moderation procedures? - Go to
