As some of you may know, my #1 daughter is beginning to look at universities. She has been adamant about becoming a veterinarian (DVM) for many years. Although she's still insisting on the "small animal vet" specialty, that may change. There are a number of excellent vet schools in the US of course, but we (collectively) are are also interested in international schools. She's currently in an International Baccalaureate program in biology.
The University of Edinburgh is one that we are very interested in. It has a truly world class vet school, can provide her masters in 4-5 years, and its degrees are accepted by the American Veterinary Association. Since we have a number of Scotsmen (and several "No True Scotsmen" ) on this forum, I was hoping one of you could give me some information on the school. Also, any other schools in Scotland that might be worth looking in to (f'rinstance, the U. of Glasgow outranks Brown University on the "top 100 schools" in the world but I don't know if they have a vet program).
Appreciate your help.

I'm afraid I don't know much about it... and you have probably done this anyway... but there is a faculty of veterinary medicine at the U of G. Here it is...
University of Glasgow: Scottish University of the Year 2022
[ABE] I also have it on authority (though from a mathematician) that Edinburgh is a really great place to study).
Edited by Tusko, : No reason given.

If you choose Glasgow you will need someone reliable to look out for her won't you?
Brian.

Thanks Tusko and Brian.
It looks bad for Glasgow, unfortunately. They apparently require that damnyankees already have a BSc or three years pre-vet study at another school. Not much point in "changing horses in mid-stream" if she's already attending UVa, Cornell, Ohio State or CSU. Edinburgh is looking better and better. I'll still need someone to keep an eye on her, of course .

Send her with your buddy in your picture.

Unless he's got a Pet Passport he won't get in without spending six months in quarantine (we don't have rabies over here and we're kind of phobic about it).
