Good folks.
The title is misleading and I apologize in advance.
I am interested in the simplest scientific experiment that a layman can carry out in order to determine rough measures regarding the Earth's shape and size. Think high-school education or less, if possible.
I have no religious agenda nor care to support/undermine any of them. I just want the simplest scientific methodology that would allow me to conduct the aforementioned experiments.
Thank you all.
Be well.

Can't you just google it? This is a debate forum for issues dealing with Evolution V Creation. Not a forum for high school science experiments.
Look around on the site to see what people are discussing and come back a while later after you've involved yourself with some of the debates.

I'm afraid you misunderstand.
My question has nothing to do with high-school. I simply wanted to provide an educational baseline.
Now, please ask yourself. Do you know the Earth is round or do you believe it is round? Most people claim to "know" it when, in fact, they simply believe it.
And anyone can believe anything.
The only way to actually know something of this nature is to be in possession of a specific kind of methodology. In particular, scientific methodology.
Yes, it is possible to Google this matter... in general. However, is there a layman's experiment that demonstrates the Earth is round? In my opinion, this is a question relevant in this kind of forum.

Welcome to EvC
Welcome to EvC Txomin,
Thank you for proposing a new topic and adding to our diversity. Since you are new to EvC, I suggest that you carefully read the Forum Guidelines and familiarize yourself with the functions of EvC by using the Practice Makes Perfect.
As AdminChuck noted, your proposal doesn't present a viable debate. We have a thread for Quick Questions, Short Answers - No Debate.
RAZD has already come up with a short answer. Message 92
Hopefully that thread will meet your needs.
In the purple signature box below, you'll find some links that will help make your journey here pleasant.
As members, we are guests on this board and as guests we are asked to put forth our best behavior. Please read the Forum Guidelines carefully and understand the wishes of our host. Abide by the Forum Guidelines and you will be a welcome addition.
Again welcome and fruitful debating.

    Last chance
    Hi Txomin.
Did you check out the Quick Questions, Short Answers - No Debate section like AdminPD suggested?
Here's what some of the members here came up with on your inquiry:
    Message 92 from RAZD
    Message 93 from Panda
This might make for an interesting discussion but you should read the above messages first before you decide if you want this topic proposed.
The members often like to engage the one proposing the actual topic (although not necessary) and at times the member proposing it goes MIA.
Is your point that people take science stuff on faith, so belief in science is no different from belief in God?
