SN2016adj

The recent supernova, SN2016adj, first appeared in the skies here on Earth on February 8 earlier this month. It is located in the nearby galaxy, Centaurus A which is about 11 million light years away from us.

Since we know when the light from this supernova first showed up does this single event set a minimum age of the Universe at at least 11 million years old?

But, didn't the Intelligent Designer poof that light into existence, on the way to the earth, less than 10 000 years ago? I mean, that's a scientific theory in the Bible Belts of the US and some parts of western Sydney.

But the constant c (the maximum speed of light in a vacuum) changed during The Flood, Jar. The Flood changed everything in the Universe.

But even something as absurd as that assertion seems to fail in this particular example. Even if that were true, the flood lasted only for a year, the distance to Centaurus A is still 11 million light years and the supernova still only appeared on February 8, 2016.

But the constant c (the maximum speed of light in a vacuum) changed during The Flood, Jar. The Flood changed everything in the Universe.

This is what I call the "Loki super-deception creation" where the whole universe was created with the intent to deceive people as a huge joke.

How could you possibly know how far away that galaxy is? Radiocarbon dating isn't that accurate.

This supernova is really a nail in the coffin for all the Young Earth folk since it is better documented than any previous example. At 2016/02/08.042 the galaxy was observed and the supernova was not there. At 2016/02/08.560, just fifty two minutes later it was observed to be there.

If we allow magic light, it still would put the source within fifty two light minutes from the Earth. Since the sun is 8 light minutes from the Earth that would put the Centaurus A only 6.5 times as far away as the sun. We can count the number of VISIBLE stars in Centaurus A and so have a pretty good idea of how much heat we would get from Centaurus A if it were that close and the numbers ain't pretty.

Yea all sound arguments im sure, but you dont understand the devil is behind this science, it clearly states in the bible that stars are just dots in the sky dome above our flat 4 cornered earth, the scientist are lying you cant get a rocket up there itl crash in to a dome unless god opens a window silly scientist

Technically, if you allow magic light, the source could be anywhere.

I wonder if this supernova was the "new star" in the night sky signifying the birth of a Messiah somewhere in the Centaurus A galaxy?

That could be true if the star seen was seen on 02/08/2016, but that would make Jesus just about a month old now and still healing from the snip-snip.

Gmmph. "Improbable". You're unsure. You can't proof anything. Therefore I'm sure the Holy FSM poofed that Supernova into existence 6000 years ago.

You really don't have an idea what you're talking about. The physicist Prof. Dr. John Harnett is an informed creationist and he shows that light will change speed in some directions and in some different mediums. All in a peer-reviewed article on the CMI website. That's how he showed that the Universe can only be 6 000 years old.

All you guys don't know what you're talking about. At all. You assume everything.
