The Australian researcher, Ronald Pegg, has highlighted some of the differences between the ancient context and original meanings of words, and their modern translations and interpretations. He starts with Genesis 1:1 and asks the question
"Why have we been led to believe that the Hebrew word for God (as found in the Old English Bible as Word # 430) is a singular word; when Strong’s Concordance clearly shows it is a plural word, meaning gods ?"
Not only is there a discrepancy between the singular and plural nature of the word God, but the rearranging of the sentence to make it read in a religious sense has changed the original context.
The Hebrew Text also contains two untranslated particles (given to mean he).
As it stands in the English Bible, Genesis 1:1 says;
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth".
The transliteration of the Hebrew Text; Genesis 1:1;
"In the beginning created god {he} the heaven {he} the earth".
The word god is in the 3rd person plural, while the verb created is in the 3rd person singular.
Religious scholars have explained away to their satisfaction why they accept the singular word God instead of the stated plural word gods. The untranslated particle has been given the sense of he as referring to the God singular, so the plural word gods is now defined as singular by the 2 uses of he; but this is incorrect.
A plural word has been made to read singular to enhance a religious perception, instead of translating the original Hebrew context.
Genesis 1:1 should read as In the beginning created gods { } the heaven { } the earth - where { } is the untranslated particle.
But when we refer to
Strong’s Concordance to check all these words, we find that the meanings of the particle and two other words are also not what was originally meant in the Hebrew.

earth . . . 776 . . . the earth; partitively a land
Heaven is a misleading word, as the original context is specifically where clouds are seen. It is a religious word used (without substantiation) to enhance a preconceived religious message.
Earth is also misleading for the same reason, as it refers to only a part of the earth (like a specific region).
The particle associated with heaven and earth clearly show that both words are an entity in themselves, and that they are the object of the verb and not the word God. Thus by direct relation with the verb, a sky and a part of the earth are created. But because Word # 7225 gives the sense of order, it means that the sky with clouds is created after the gods, then a part of the earth is created.
The Hebrew language is able to get the message across in less words that we do in English, as their words sometime contain another level of meanings that fully explain the context of that word.
By using a particle next to the two singular words heaven and earth that directly link to the singular verb to create, and by signifying in the word beginning that a sequence of things is to follow, the Hebrew language cuts out most of our added English words that we would need to explain such an event.
The original Hebrew words transliterate as the first in order; to create; gods; sky with clouds; a part of earth.
But using the full meanings of these words gives the message of Genesis 1:1 as
The first of a sequence; gods created; (next) a sky with clouds created; (next) a part of earth created.
This sentence was said to have been written in 1230BC. At that time not only did the Egyptians worship many gods, but so too did the subsequent Romans and Greeks. Therefore gods (plural) is in context for this time period.
So from the first Five words of the Old Testament, Four of them do not give the original Hebrew message.
If this trend is common throughout the Bible, then statistically, this means that 80 % of the Bible’s words may be incorrectly translated.
You may now understand why Mr Pegg felt the need to investigate and question the religious stories told to us as portrayed in the Bible.
So Mr Pegg translated Genesis 1:1-6 which converted the Old English religious translations back into the original Hebrew context and meanings, and found:
"The first of a sequence; gods created; (next) a sky with clouds; (next) a part of earth.
The part of the earth was concealed; A desolate empty darkness after the surface of the main sea.
The breathing-spirit of the gods to sit over the face of the water to challenge and cast down the gods.
Knowledge to exist there.
Following the gods a sun to appear there. That sun to succeed the gods.
From selecting the sun, a secret place.
Religious leaders and messengers to call upon the hot sun in ignorance. They to preach to distort the knowledge to meddle with and cover up the original words following the dawning of the first Sun.
The gods commune and sink there: the two sections of the visible sky and water: to exist and remain to divide the water from the water."
Mr Pegg has discovered that this succession of imagery exactly matches to the opening sequences of the 1995
Ancient Civilizations of the Mediterranean CD-Rom when it is viewed.

When I first came across his claims, I immediately grabbed a copy of Strong's Concordance and checked his references - they were correct.
I then viewed the
Ancients CD-Rom for myself - and there, on the screen, as described by the Bible's original Hebrew words, were the above sequence of images.
Reading the words is one thing - viewing the evidence first hand took my breath away.
