In response to a friends very open atheism, I asked him to research and to try and step by step prove that Jesus was not resurected. He spent almost two months working to prove it, but has now ended up becoming a Christian because of evidence he found. If it can be proven that Jesus was resurected, it would certainly be proof of God and therefore creation. I was wondering if this event would be used as a shortcut or if anyone else has used this to support their theories. Also what are your thoughts on this?

Welcome to EvC
Welcome to EvC SpecKeta,
Thank you for proposing a new topic and adding to our diversity. Since you are new to EvC, I suggest that you carefully read the Forum Guidelines and familiarize yourself with the functions of EvC by using the Practice Makes Perfect Forum or posting in existing threads.
Your topic subject has potential, but this is a debate board and your opening post needs work.
An opening post should consist of the topic question or statement being considered and the poster's own position concerning the subject. Some background information on the topic question is also good when the question could be perceived several ways.
You have your question: If it can be proven that Jesus was resurrected, would that be proof of God? or Would proving that Jesus was resurrected prove the existence of God?
Now give your position on the subject with support for your position. In other words, why do you feel that proving the resurrection would be proof of God? (If that is your position.) Then provide the information that leads you to that conclusion.
In the purple signature box below, you'll find some links that will help make your journey here pleasant.
As members, we are guests on this board and as guests we are asked to put forth our best behavior. Please read the Forum Guidelines carefully and understand the wishes of our host. Abide by the Forum Guidelines and you will be a welcome addition.
Again welcome and fruitful debating. Purple

Usually, in a well-conducted debate, speakers are either emotionally uncommitted or can preserve sufficient detachment to maintain a coolly academic approach.-- Encyclopedia Brittanica, on debate

I'm going to add a little more advice. If you don't want to discuss the supposed proof it would be a good idea not to say anything that suggests that there is proof that Jesus was resurrected. Leave the question purely hypothetical. The question is still almost certain to crop up, but it'll make life easier for the moderators if you don't do anything to invite it.
If you do want to discuss the supposed proof it would be a good idea to do that first, before starting this topic. Again it'll make life easier for the moderators.
