keeping up with the holidays
Giving the power to help others ... World Grid.
Easter is about resurrection eh? What better resurrection than from the deathbed for thousands if not millions of people infected with HIV?

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out
the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be
self-evident that all men are created equal.
...
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in
a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin
but by their character."
-- MLK
Should we judge a {cure\disease} by who has it?
Simply donate the time your computer is turned on, but would normally lie idle, for projects that benefit humanity. Like a screensaver, grid technology is easy to use, safe and free. When you are ready to use your computer, the grid software will shut itself off until the next time your computer is idle. To learn more, click on Become a Member. Or to start volunteering your PC time now, click the button below.
On our first anniversary, we are pleased to announce the launch of our second project: FightAIDS@Home. This project has the potential to stop AIDS, perhaps the most devastating disease of our time.
If you are not already a member of World Community Grid and want to donate your computer time for this project, please click on the join now button on the right.
More info (if you need it) at:

We have over 12 members now and still need more to help in this valuable research, and all that is needed is computer time, time not being used on any other computer use.
To join go to
World Community Grid
After you join as a member, join our team by selecting "join a team" and then go to
After you sign up go to {T section page 3} to pick Team EvC to join
Enjoy.

Bump
BumpBumpBumpBumpBumpBumpBumpBumpBumpBumpBumpBump.....
This is possibly the most incredible thing I've read all week! It's like having the biggest, fastest Beowulf cluster ever - and it's made up of hundreds of thousands of computers all over the world!
This wouldn't be possible without the Internet. I am completely stunned by this and what it could accomplish.
And yes I'm signing up!
From their forums:
To all members,
Today we crossed a significant milestone. Our virtual community of World Community Grid volunteers has racked up a whopping 20,000 years of computer time!
We have reached 20,000 years of run time in just under 1 year. This incredible achievement has brought the Human Proteome Folding project almost to its completion. It would have taken the Institute for Systems Biology, the project's sponsor, nearly 100 years to accomplish this with their existing supercomputers -- or one processor 20,000 years! Think about what humanity was doing that long ago and how far we have come. Simply amazing.
Congratulations and thank you for your contributions. We look forward to even greater accomplishments.
Imagine what they'll have done in 10 years!

ANOTHER Bump for Team EvC
Yes, I'll get my work comp on this on monday. They run all night to run antivirus and backups at night, so there will be 16 hours (+/-) per day free for this to run.
We may also have some lurkers and others that have signed up but just don't want to be involved in the team.

Good cause
I've been running the grid project for over four years now and donated two years of CPU time and the team that I head up has totted up 42 years in total.

Cool stuff Modman. I've just about finished my first molecule ... seems to get slower the closer it gets to the end?
Looking forward to seeing some points racked up by this team.
