How can The Bible be called the literal word of God when the Old and New Testaments keep contradicting each other?
I can't quote exact versus (but I'm sure someone will fill me in), but here are some examples:
OT: Don't eat pork.
NT: No, actually, its OK.
OT: An eye for an eye.
NT: That's a bad idea. Turn the other cheek.
Absolutely no consistency! It seems like the OT was written for one time (not eating shellfish made a lot of sense thousands of years ago) while the NT made quite a few corrections for people at the time. Why can't we write a New New Testament for modern times?
