Maybe I've got this wrong, but I seem to remember that Jesus was not exactly well off. "Working class" would probably be the best term. He was a carpenter after all.
Which begs the question to you literalists: Who's fault is that?
I mean, Jesus started off EXTREMELY wealthy. A big box of gold. A big box of Frankensteins. And a pile of Myr (murr?).
What's the deal? Was Joseph a degenerate camel race gambler?
Did Mary have a secret drug problem?

Not Sure Enough
I'm not sure that there is enough here for a discussion unless you are wanting to argue that he wasn't.
You seem to be looking for simple answers.
Jesus the Carpenter
Was Jesus a Carpenter
Here are two links that give different sides.
If you want to continue this as a discussion, I suggest you come up with some purpose to your questions.
Why do you need or want to know? What's the point in asking the question aside from inquiring minds want to know?

Re: Not Sure Enough
Hey man, the literalists have to account for whats "literally" there. Or in this case, the majorly important missing passages that explain how Jesus lost all that money.
I mean, is this why he was all "help the poor"?

Re: Not Sure Enough
I figured there was an agenda to the post.
Given your thread on the point of the debate, I don't see a discussable point to your OP.
My impression is that you just want to give literalist a hard time.
I'm not inclined to promote this topic. If no other Admin decides to take up your cause, I will close this thread on Wednesday.
