Water Canopy Covering the Earth

The purpose of this thread is to allow buzsaw and other creationists to explain the concept of the water canopy above the Earth before the flood and why they think such a layer of liquid up above is even possible, given what we know now how fluid mechanics work.From time to time, I have heard various creationists, including Kent Hovind, make the claim that before the flood people lived a lot longer because there was a layer of water up above the Earth that prevented the sun's deadly rays from reaching the surface. That's pretty much all that I have heard from their explanation.I'd like to see creationists explain this further and why they think the atmospheric pressure resulting from the existence of such a water layer in the atmosphere wouldn't crush every living being on Earth.

Well, put it somewhere where he can participate. I've been hearing the water canopy mentioned from time to time, but no one has ever explained clearly how it worked. Speaking as an engineer, I know that something like that has disaster written all over it. But I'd like to hear what buzsaw and others who support this "theory" to explain more to the rest of us how the water canopy worked.

Scientific discussions related to the creation/evolution debate can only take place in the science forums. Buzsaw is restricted from participation in the science forums at EvC Forum until he can reach a consensus with others here as to the nature of scientific evidence.

Put it in the theology section then. I don't care. All I want is an explanation about this water canopy thing. It's not like we're forbidden to bring up the behavior of water in the theology forum.

We don't need a thread that is a moderation problem before it is even promoted.
