Are we in a new world Empire? A NWO?
War of any real significance is almost impossible. Our ability to destroy the whole world will scare any one power from ever declaring a world war.
TVO | Current affairs, documentaries and education
The link above, and history, shows how various nations are coming together to form larger and yet larger cooperating groups of nations. Almost all nations now are members of the U.N. and Free Trade is the new buzz word and goal of all nations.
Thanks to technology, diverse cultures and languages can be melded to a point where everyone can be understood by almost everyone else. Computers now translate between diverse languages and the artificial borders we have created between peoples are almost all gone.
The link above indicates that the unification of mankind is inevitable and a natural desire for us all to belong to the biggest and most powerful tribe. We have generally agreed to let the U.S. be the world police. We have also created a World Bank and monetary fund that basically ignores borders. All banks will soon have to all work under the same rules.
Are we already in an Empire that includes the whole world? Are we in a NWO?

DL

Tell the Syrians that their war is "insignificant".

This is the only new world order I am aware of.

Count the bodies.
You will find that the numbers are hardly worth the notice if you compare them to other epochs and conflicts.
If the death toll was higher then the major powers just going into action today would have gone in a lot sooner.
We do not see a lot of people joining ISIS and that is why we are taking our time in ridding ourselves of that nuisance force.
As to a major conflict, the huge trading groups would not allow it nor are leaders likely to forget our capability of assured mutual destruction.
Do you really think the world insane enough to ever go into WWIII?

Scary.
With the new and rather large trading agreements that encompass many nations coming out, --- and globalization of banking, --- does that not look like the world is going more into rapprochement than separation?

In many ways yes, and in many ways...no. Even within my own country the USA, it seems political leaders are very highly polarized in their politics. Without getting to much into it, I'd say it is a ebb and flow. I wish the United States would stop trying to nation build and get back to the matters at hand.
Namely build our roads and infrastructure here and address the deep economic problems we have here. If we could just spend some of that money on where it is really needed it would go a long way in improving our children's outlook on life for the future. There is no real conspiracy in globalization and new world orders. There is only the same players, playing the same games and forgetting the lessons of the past imo.

I hear you but they might be learning from the past or just need the time to put all the players on the board before declaring a real NWO.
The rapprochement we are seeing in trade says it all. Business want's global markets that are unrestricted and they will eventually buy it as they go about buying up our political leaders.
Our oligarch owners want to maximize profits and that means making banana republics out of all of our countries.
I do not mind because at that point, with the technology at hand, we might end with an open and transparent system where we can actually know who our leaders are.
We should actually promote a NWO just so that we can know who owns us and demand a redistribution of wealth and an end to poverty.

Tell the Syrians that the bodies of their children are "hardly worth the notice".

Or... the major powers might occasionally realize that killing people isn't the answer to every problem.

"We" are losing that battle.

What does that have to do with the topic?

Out of context and if that is all you have then go away.

How the hell is that out of context? You're using body count as an indicator of a "new order". I'm pointing out how ridiculous your premise is.

It is out of context because we are analysing numbers. not indicating how we should feel about life or death.
I venerate life and dislike seeing any death.
Yours was a disingenuous remark and a moral woman would retract and apologise.

Analyzing numbers is a ridiculous method for determining whether or not we have a new order. What's the threshold for "new"? If the number of people who die next year declines again, do we have a "newer" order?
You need to establish a cause-and-effect relationship between wars/deaths and order, not just a correlation (if there even is a correlation). Show us that the body count is declining because of a new order.
