I can understand why nobody is interested in partaking in a formal debate. It would take a lot of work to do it right, and it's just not worth the effort.
I know that I stayed out of the evcformum.net discussions for quite a while, because in it's early days, it seemed too formal for my tastes.
What has now occured to me is: While not bothering to go to great extremes on structure and moderation, would it be interesting to have some "one individual" to "one individual" discussion/debate? Anyone want to challenge anyone else to a "game" of one on one?
Now a side comment:
Percy (aka Admin) is exploring bringing on two or more moderators (to have admin status), from the creation side. I don't know if he has yet contacted the candidates.
As I see it, as things are currently running, the volume of messages at evcform.net is too great for Admin and Adminnemooseus to effectively monitor. Admin has been busy doing other things in real life, and Adminnemooseus is slow in both mind and internet connection.
I here suggest that the topic originators strive to take a greater role in guiding the topic. If it goes off topic, try to remind the participents of the intended theme.
If anyone wishes to contact someone with admin status:
admin@
mnmoose@lakenet.com
Lastly, I once again urge all to take it easy on the use of quotes. It is seeming that many topics are ending up being many lines of quotes, and far fewer lines of new input.

Added by edit: Another problem I see, is ambigious titles being given to new topics, with perhaps also this being carried over into the initial message. Please try to clearly define what you intend the topic to be.
As far as ambigious titles, I know I've been guilty of it myself. Quite a while back I started "Back to the Fundimentals". In hindsite, I wish I'd titled it "Back to the Geology Fundimentals". Percy (aka Admin) has informed me that it is difficult to change titles after the fact.
