Have you ever played a good April Fool's joke on anyone? Years ago I was working in an office not far from a grocery store that had a good deli. The boss-lady, an elderly woman, usually wanted lunch from this deli. Almost every day, one of us would call over and get the menu and it usually ran something like this:
---------------------------------------
Meat Loaf
Broiled chicken
Rice
Yams
Early Peas
String Beans
Rolls or Cornbread
Banana Pudding
Peach Cobbler---------------------------------------
One April Fool's Day, we decided to play a prank and made up our own menu, which if I remember correctly ran like this:
---------------------------------------
Yellow Fin Tuna
Filet Mignon
Veal Sicilia
Calabaza Squash
Bitter Melon
Hawaaian Sweet Potatoes
Garlic Whistles
Onion Bread
Creamed Cornbread
Creme Brul
Terimasu--------------------------------------
The poor woman almost jumped out of her skin with excitement. "Oh, they must have upgraded the deli!" She then picked up the phone and
actually called the deli to inquire about how the yellow fin tuna was cooked.
This might be one of those "you had to be there" things, but it was funny at the time.
So what have you done to celebrate this important day?
