Attention American creationists and evolutionists! Harun Yahya, the Turkish creationist (and my nemesis), will be visiting the United States! Harun Yahya's books, videos, and audios will be displayed at ISNA Convention, Washington D.C. between August 30th - September 2nd (Booth #315) . . . Between 6-16 September, a series of conferences based on Harun Yahya's works will be carried in New York, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Illionis . . . http://www.harunyahya.com/ See for yourself. See what American creationists imported abroad. I hope some of you can take a look and write a report about it!

Hi Andya, Is Harun Yahya connected in some way to the American creationsist movement or did he come up with his objections independently? I thought he based his objections on the Koran and not the bible. In any case, while he may find a receptive audience among the scientifically uneducated and easily manipulated creationist movement I think his chances in Turkey are rather poor in the long run. Turkey is pushing to join the EU. Though Turkey will remain a sovereign country within the EU, there will be strong pressure to bring the education system up to the European standard and that includes a scientific training beyond almost anything you see in the US and does NOT include teaching mythology in the science classroom....as for some parts of the US (Georgia and Kansas come to mind)...the kids will grow up believing the X-files are real, alchemy is an accepted science, the earth is flat, Elvis is an alien and is alive, the Flinstones really existed, creationism, and all sorts of other superstitious nonsense cheers, Mammuthus

Andya, I'm forwarding your post to a couple of friends of mine who live in DC. I don't know if they'll do anything - but they all disagree with creationism in all its nefarious forms. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the heads-up.

Hi again, Andya. Could you forward some more details on both the expo and the conferences? F'rinstance, what ISNA is? Maybe where it's located? I couldn't find anything on Yahya's website, and one of my friends asked for more details. Thanks...

Hi Andya, I would love to go and trash this idiot (as I do live in the area) but I am leaving town tommorrow and will not be back until the 2nd. If he is around where I can reach him later I will go and see how much bugging my wonderful little personality can generate . I did look at the site that you linked though and listened to the 5 min intro to the video, the Downfall of Darwinism or some such nonsense. I heard at least 10 errors in logic (Paley's old watch arguement for one), history (that people only liked Darwins book for social reasons, social darwinism came about AFTER the book was published; as well as the old Karl Marx libel, Darwin REFUSED to endorse Marx and the infamous copy sent to Darwin by Marx was uncut, meaning likely never read), and science (if every organism was optimized for it's environment as stated in the video then there would not be the problem of the introduction of environment-external species such as the chinese snake fish in my area). This guy is piling on all of the worst of the old school creationist crap. ------------------ "Chance favors the prepared mind." L. Pasteur Taz

Currently I am seriously working on rebuttals of Harun Yahya's arguments. I feel that somebody must stop him, because more people (mostly Muslim) are drawn to his conclusions without noticing. Please check my site below. http://liquid2k.com/traduza ps: Is the 'chinese snakefish' you mention scientifically named Clarias? Clarias was imported from my homeland Indonesia, and it is a popular food source here.
Is the 'chinese snakefish' you mention scientifically named Clarias?
Not the one in Maryland but Clarias has already made its appearance in Florida. In some places homeowners build fences to keep them out of backyard fishponds. Last I heard the problem in Maryland was so serious that the entire pond where the snakefish was found in was poisoned.

Okay, back to the point. Seems that more people are getting interested and start to grind their axes for Harun Yahya. You guys at DC, have you meet him? (or them--I suspect Harun Yahya's actually a committee of sorts) What do you think?
