Should have started this last week, but anyway...
My prediction is Patriots, 20-17.

Pats 27 - 17
As much as I would prefer the NFC team to win (Packer fan here)...
I do believe that the Pat's will take it
27 - 17
(rooting for the cats tho)

Patriots 14-10.
Low-scoring game--battle of great defenses.

My money (well, not really any actual money) is on the Panthers, 29-21, according to the simulations...
Does anybody find it kind of weird that these two teams are essentially from nowhere? I mean, where exactly is "New England"? I mean, exactly? And "Carolina" refers to at least two states that I'm aware of... which is it? Doens't a team have to be from somewhere? If the Patriots have a home game, where do they play?

Ah Phil...you just might be right...
It looks like it's going to be much lower scoring than I had anticipated.

Considering the game has already been played, it is a perfect candidate for SbY H-D post ad hoc reasoning a la Popper. The hypothesis that the Panthers would win raises the plausibility of demons from 0.6 to 0.61. The Panthers lost which has no effect on the plausibility of my completely unrelated hypothesis. This therefore confirms that demons exist...I asked the ghost of Elvis to and he told me it was so...am I a great famous scientist or what?

I predict Janet Jackson will reveal one of her baps at half time.
I predicted this before the event will speaking to an unverifiable source who has now tragically died. I also wrote it down but lost the bit of paper. But I did write "What Possible Fix Could There Be?" clearly refering to the need to repair her outfit.

Mammuthus and MrJack,
I've never heard such dogmatic pronouncements. Okay, so you seem to think 'facts' and 'observations' and stuff are the be-all-and-end-all of empirical evidential inquiry. Well, no one here, I repeat no one, can refute the fact that I predicted hours before the game, in a crowded bar no less, that Kid Rock would sing poorly. I have witnesses who will corroborate this if you're going to play the 'verifiable' card on me. Was there a game as well?
regards,
Esteban "He Who Dealt It" Hambre

Incidently, what actually is the 'SuperBowl'? And who are the 'Patriots'?

No one really knows. One possibility that being from Britain you're probably not aware that the US government has mandated the use of low flush-volume toilets in new construction. Unfortunately, technology has been slow to catch up with the requirement, resulting in toilets that have to be flushed several times - so much for saving water. Patriots are those who voluntarily installed the new toilets away. The SuperBowl is the arrival, at last, of high technology toilets that satisy government mandates *and* only need to be flushed once.
Another possibility is that the Superbowl is a ski area in the Himalayas, the Panthers is just another name for the Yetti, and Patriots are skiers courageous enough to brave the Yetti that inhabit the Superbowl.
Another possibilty is that the Superbowl is my son's idea of what constitutes a proper cereal bowl, usually one of my wife's giant mixing bowls, and the Patriots refer to anyone brave enough to get between my son and food.
But those are only theories. In truth, no one really knows.

Does anyone besides me think that was an absolutely lousy halftime show, except for Janet Jackson. I'm not talking about the controversial part, I'm talking about the musical part. Thank goodness there is a "mute" button on my remote. What were they thinking in having rappers do a big part of the halftime show? Not exactly the target audience (football fans) for rappers, is it? Of course, this is merely my opinion.
Now, its off to Ebay to purchase some Janet Jackson memorabilia before prices skyrocket.

Except for Janet? I thought the whole thing was lame. But then, they usually are...

Why wouldn't it be? Exactly what demographic do you think the Superbowl pulls in?

Janet's Private Demon
I predict that at least one member of EvC Forum will suggest that Justin Timberlake suffers from demonic possession, that Janet Jackson's tahtah exposure was due to the crowd's bratwurst/beer-induced flatulence, or that the two missed field goals were caused by evil angels that pounced aboard the airborne pigskins and guided them astray.
Peace post-Super Bowl
