Month of March 2003 Post of Month Topic
Month of April 2003 Post of Month Topic Month of May 2003 Post of Month Topic These topics still available for additions. Now for June 2003 (as per previous months): quote: A link to the message, and perhap a SHORT comment would also be nice. But, this is NOT a place to debate the referenced topic. I think that a fairly liberal use of this topic would be a good thing for indexing some nice messages that are otherwise doomed to be lost in the clutter. So, if you encounter a message that seems to say something of special substance, please give it a plug/reference in this topic. Adminnemooseus

Forum: The Bible: Accuracy and Inerrancy Thread: Noah's Flood Came Down. It's Goin Back Up!! Post #: 118 Snowball Earth - An interesting little (possible) detail in the earths geologic history. Message includes a nice link to further information (actually, the link is the main substance of the message). Note: The main topic is, by intent, correctly in "The Bible: Accuracy and Inerrancy" forum. Moose [This message has been edited by minnemooseus, 06-04-2003]

Forum: Evolution Topic: If evolution is not the answer, then what is? Post: #29 I hope I got the URL right. I don't know that there's anything deep about this post, but I liked how well-worded it was. It's straightforward, easy to follow, and answers the points well. I think I heard Schraf is one of the scientists on this forum. I'm not, and some discussions are over my head. The easy-to-read professionals are pleasant, and I know there's a certain skill to it. Btw, thanks for the nominations in my direction last month. Since I mostly drown in the scientific terminology around here, it's an honor anyone would even suggest one of mine for post of the month.

Forum: Geology and the Great Flood Thread: Wegener and Evidence for Continental Drift Post #: www.evcforum.net/cgi-bin/dm.cgi?action=msg&f=7&t=73&m=68#68>68 --I am forwarding this post as worthy of a 'post of the month' because I love the bit on the existence of Guyots. Dispite the fact that I still disagree with him on many of the points in his post, it was compiled well and much easier to comprehend than many of the other confusing posts I have read in the thread. An exceptional post. -------------------

Forum: The Bible: Accuracy and Inerrancy Thread: Noah's Flood Came Down. It's Goin Back Up!! Post #: 163 A well argued, well presented and, most importantly, non-offensive essay about two topics: the importance of familiarizing yourself with a topic before discussing it, and the tentative nature of scientific theory.

Message is (off-topic) commentary on quality of writing - Points out that some participents here are not writing in their primary language. Quality writing is important in making a good impression, but we must recognize that there are complicating factors. I encourage all to do the best they can. Forum: Evolution Thread: Evolution vs Creation Post #: 11 This post is from nearly a year ago and so predates these "Post of the Month" nomination threads, but it is my all time favorite, especially the part up to the smiley. It's a reply to Fred Williams and is an answer to his charge that evolution is a fairy tale. I had lost track of it, but Buzsaw's posts reminded of it, and this time I was able to find it. I know it's from the wrong month and year, but it's worth a read. --Percy

With Admins blessing, I've created a new forum for the "Posts of the Month" topics. This should make it easier to find and use these topics.
I encourage all to submit to these topics, when you discover that special message. The "Posts of the Month" main page. Adminnemooseus
