Maybe not what you think you're seeing
I deliberately made the image a little smaller, to maybe let things be "seen" better. Or click on to get larger image.
Look at the nice kitty. Then step back from your computer and look again.

Re: Half and half cat
That looks fake to me. There are people who like to paint cats. Literally.
ABE: Here are some examples. Why would anyone do this?

Re: Half and half cat
Actually this cat is real. Here is a link to a NatGeo article I found while googling "half black cat". So, strange but true.

Chimera
I have recently seen a number of photos of butterflies where one side is male and the other female. In sexually dimorphic species it can be dramatic.
Of course Photoshop makes anything possible. I once slipped two copies of myself into a large family portrait and my parents didn't notice for more than a year.

Chimera
Yes, this was my guess.
You occasionally see that in people, mostly noticeable in the hair color. DNA testing for a chimera would be interesting for this cat.

Cats of mine that I have not previously posted photos of before
It's my avatar photo, so it's probably going to change to something else in the future, but for now...
Left to right, Munchkin (6), Teddy (10), and Marvin (16).
Teddy has chronic intestinal inflammation, and is on 100mg of Prednisolone and .5ml of kitty laxative per day. Marvin is hyperthyroid, and is on 2.5mg Methimazole twice a day.
All seem to be doing fine. Marvin was supposedly 8 when I adopted him. He's looking as good now as he did then.
Also have Munchkin's big twin sister, Punky, and Squeak (10), who is in a photo somewhere upthread.
Munchkin - Extra fluffy, cute but possibly with a touch of evil.
Punky - Chunky but spunky.
Squeak - Little grumpy.
Teddy - The weasel.
Marvin - The big old generic cat.

Real cat lovers couldn't be bothered to take the intelligence test.

Re: Half and half cat
Cats with different colored eyes aren't too unusual. And our calico cat Napoleone was split down the back like a Yin Yang sign. Several of my parents' cats have had similar splits on their faces, etc.
Never seen one that was a split between two solid colors, though.

Love your enemies!

Re: Cats of mine that I have not previously posted photos of before
Teddy has chronic intestinal inflammation, and is on 100mg of Prednisolone and .5ml of kitty laxative per day. Marvin is hyperthyroid, and is on 2.5mg Methimazole twice a day.
In all, not that hard to take care off. My thoughts have been, at least I don't have to deal with a diabetic cat.
Punky - Chunky but spunky.
And newly discovered, diabetic. My cat medication costs are about to go way up. The doctor estimate is that the insulin will run about $400/year.
I lost a cat to diabetes 10+ years ago, thus I've always tried to be aware of cat water consumption. Still, it managed to sneak up on me. I was suspecting water intake increase, but I didn't know which cat. Then a couple of days ago I watched Spunky hitting the water dish hard, a couple of times. Other than that, seemed to be fine.
Earlier today I cleaned the litter box, while Spunky was at the vet clinic. The wet kitty litter volume was only about 1/5th what it has been. D'oh. Like I said, still managed to sneak up on me. In hindsight, the increased water consumption has been going on for at least several months. I should have thought a lot more about that "make sure the cat's water dish is full" note I posted on the exit door a while back. A big bowl had gone dry a couple of times. D'oh.
Moral of the story - Even 5 cats don't drink that much water. Watch out if that changes.
Moose
